Welcome

The $1.39 billion Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade will improve traffic flow and safety along one of the State’s busiest road corridors.

The construction of extra lanes will help ease congestion and improve the flow of traffic.  The introduction of an intelligent freeway management system along the corridor and parts of the Princes Freeway and Western Ring Road will capitalise on these improvements, by managing the flow and entry of vehicles on the freeway.

In addition, strengthening works and changes to the operation of the West Gate Bridge will ensure this critical part of Melbourne's road network will continue to provide safe and reliable service into the future.

The Monash-CityLink-West Gate upgrade is a partnership between the State Government and Transurban. It is just one part of the State Government's action plan to improve Victoria's transport system.
