Safety improved on the West Gate Bridge

Motorists will this week start to see the first signs of temporary public safety barriers being installed on the West Gate Bridge, as part of measures to improve public safety on the Bridge.

That would have been the catch cry as two beams were installed as part of the West Gate Freeway upgrade this week.

Resurfacing underway on Southern Link

Resurfacing has started on the section between Punt Road and just east of Glenferrie Road in both directions, with this work expected to continue until November.

Drivers asked to look ahead and pick a lane on West Gate Freeway

Changed traffic conditions on the West Gate Freeway mean westbound drivers exiting the freeway at Todd Road will need to make their lane choice earlier.

The Victorian Minister for Roads and Ports, Tim Pallas, has announced that the West Gate Bridge will be increased from four to five lanes in both directions to address traffic congestion as part of the $240 million West Gate Bridge Strengthening Project.
