From Monday 12 October, there will be new arrangements for motorists coming from the West Gate Bridge who want to access Lorimer and Montague Streets.
The new Montague Street exit ramp (which opened on 30 August) provides West Gate Bridge traffic with direct access to Montague Street and reduces the need to weave across lanes to get to the Lorimer Street exit ramp. Traffic from the West Gate Bridge will no longer be able to use the Lorimer Street exit ramp, they will need to access Lorimer Street via Montague Street.
There are additional variable message signs on the freeway to alert people to the new exit.
The diagram below shows an aerial view of the Montague Street interchange - the red arrow indicates the Montague Street exit ramp, for traffic coming from the West Gate Bridge. Bolte Bridge traffic will continue to use the exit at Lorimer Street.
